09/02/2019 Brynmawr Vs Dowlais Match Report

Dowlais actually took the lead twice in the first half with a sniping try by scrum half Darryl Jenkins and a conversion and penalty by Cameron Trowbridge.
Dowlais lost their prop in the first scrum and had to use a youth prop Shane Chambers who held his own in trying circumstances. Brynmawr edged in front by half time to lead 12-10.
The second half was one way traffic with the bigger pack and the pacey backs taking control for Brynmawr. They then utilised their strong bench to pour more srife on Dowlais . Dowlais had the small satisfaction of scoring the first try and the last try of the game, Jack Chambers scored in the closing minutes and Cameron Trowbridge added the difficult conversion. The coaches were proud of the effort put in by this ravaged injury effected Dowlais side who never gave up.

The vast difference in the playing  squads of both sides was tremendous with Brynmawr boasting a squad of 30 and 4 players returning from Premiership sides , showing the difference of the haves and have nots of this unlevel playing field  that is Welsh Rugby, and is proving what could end up has unsustainable by some clubs.
